The rag mentioned on the GCSD report when the 12:21 BOL was put out on Tuesday the 10th.
I never give up

Daniel Adams. A dispatcher?
Byron Charles. A witness? (seriously who’s named Byron anymore, is he a Lord?)
Noted the date, November 2004.

A Lot of backpedaling from the the first couple of days but why? Cecil Smith is in one mode at the beginning of this investigation and his actions seem to be that of an officer who has a feeling something more than a minor accident happened but by the time he writes his report several days later his words do not reflect that.

It is still a local investigation when Cecil Smith omits the rag in the tailpipe from his report and a few other things. So the pressure to lead this missing person case in a certain direction is on the local level and not the State level. What I am trying to say is that it is not the state police that are telling ther Local LE to shut up and be careful what you put out for info but rather local LE or more accurately Chief Williams driving the direction. It is clear from CS report that they want this to be a drunk driver who fled the scene and nothing more.

+les1961 ……..no one really knows who OR what motivated the info that was INCLUDED or OMITTED from these reports. It would be remiss to dismiss anything at this point. Keep your eyes wide open 😉

*MJWarren – I guess my underlying thought was that regardless of who or what was or was not omitted etc. is the responsibility of one man. Chief Williams. It is his job as chief to make darn sure the info is correct and that the investigation is handled correctly. A young woman is gone and the blame for a less than professional, accurate and detailed investigation weighs entirely on his shoulders. That was his job and that is what he was paid to do. So in the early going the Chief was driving the direction and no one else.

And they pushed the DUI and SUICIDE scenario from night one. Exactly…!!!!

I don’t recall seeing a picture of Maura with even remotely black hair…

Did he have a daughter of similar age at the time?

Did who have a daughter of similar age..?

Chief Williams. (Yeah, I know.) But I couldn’t resist.
Ohhh … how the mind wanders.

Black hair is very distinct.

Plus, it was down. Not like her. Was her hair up or down in the ATM vid? We don’t know!

I’m going to guess we know why the ATM video wasn’t released. It’s not clear it IS MM. My guess is it’s Skye Weeks.

So, that was Moulton’s mistake: He FORGOT to remove the rag after they grabbed her. Whether or not it did what it was supposed to, it doesn’t matter now. Skye’s job was to ditch the car. She F’d up when the rag actually DID stall the car, hence the engine revving prior to the crash. Next, she gets out of there on foot. Meanwhile, Chief arrives in #001, “nose to nose” or whatever, and see NO WOMAN, so he leaves. It’s not recorded because being DUi, he’s off the books. Meanwhile, Skye realizes she’s forgotten something and goes back to the car, probably to retrieve a belonging or the wallet. Butch shows up, she shoos him away, and she vamooses before the cops arrive. She locks the car because she still intends on retrieving something later. She never gets the chance, because Moulton is approaching. She’s picked up by Moulton at the corner of Bradley Hill and they disappear.
When the cops use the gloves on the sniffing dogs, it’s not MM’s they use, it’s SKYE’s.
Where did Maura go? Who knows if she ever even got into the house. Remember, there’s at least a 45 minute lag on her trip north. A lot of things can happen in that time, and Oh! the people you meet!

Ooops, stupid me. The bank was in Amherst. Sorry about the adrenaline rush.

“I’m going to guess we know why the ATM video wasn’t released. It’s not clear it IS MM. My guess is it’s Skye Weeks.”
I’m going to retract that as being me on steroids.

Net: So it’s possible there are other fingerprints still inside the car, as long as gloves weren’t used, of course.
January 8, 2016 at 5:57 pm
… and fingerprints, on that emergency kit.

Good luck with all that now though. it has all been touched by so many people by now. Any evidence hopefully was gathered way back when in 2004…..But I have very serious doubts.
